Bob: The living room is eighteen by fifteen feet. The doorway in the middle leads upstairs. To the left is the arch to the computer room.
Nan: We're going to remove that shelf and put Bob's upright piano against this wall.
Bob: All the stickers on the plumbing in the house said that it was winterized in 10/07. That means the pipes froze before then. We used persuasive means ("Do this!") to compel the sellers to at least get all the plumbing working at the SAME TIME. They had to dig into several walls and ceilings to accomplish this.
Nan: You can see the holes they made to get to the pipes for the Jacuzzi tub in the
corner and just above the window in the Living Room. By the way, the windows in the house
(except for the picture window in the living room) are 86 inches tall. There is a lot of
character in this old house.
Bob: The living room will be painted a creamy ivory color.
Nan: Look at the huge holes in my ceiling.
As you can see, we've got mini blinds up now. It's begining to feel like home.
Nan: We intend to fill this corner with a big Plasma or LCD TV, 52-inch at least. The Colts will look mighty good on that.
Bob: I made a cool wing-shaped shelf for Little House to hold all the audio
and video components for our home entertainment center. Now I'll have to design it again,
'cause it won't fit here.
Nan: This view from dining room arch shows the front door and picture window. The big
bushes in front of the window will all be gone come spring. We intend to plant ornamental
grasses in the front of the house.
Nan: This is a nice shot of our soon to be gorgeous living room. There are laminate floors in the entire downstairs. With nice rugs on them, they will be beautiful. The stairs to the second floor are on the left.
Bob: These daylight shots really do come out better. We both liked this one particularly,
considering it shows our interiors in the raw.
Bob: 107! One of the very first things I did after the purchase went through was
to install the house number on the front door. You see it here while the furnace folks were
installing the new furnace. We eventually want to repaint the outside of the door some other color,
like...burgandy red?
Bob: An amusing shot of Nan's t-shirt drying over the furnace register during our cabinet
refinishing spree.
Bob: While we had those electricians in for adding drops in the kitchen, we had them add a new one here in the living room for our soon-to-be entertainment corner: power for TV, VCR, DVD and so forth. Nicely done, gentlemen.
It's time to get serious about this room, so we continue with the
rebuilding effort...
