Bob: This room is just off the kitchen and is six by seven feet. It will be a perfect multipurpose room.
Visible here are a replaced breaker panel and 200-amp service entry that someone was nice enough to install.
Nan: These shelves will come down, on their way to my sewing room, and the paneling will
be torn off.
Bob: This is the old water heater about to be replaced.
Nan: The drainpipe for the washer will come out. Yes, we could have a washer/dryer
downstairs too, but we don't need that many washers; we don't have that many clothes.
Bob: This is the new water heater in the dining room, about to be installed.
Nan: It's there, just waiting to be moved. The plywood is for the new subfloor
for the utility room.
Bob: There was a very nasty piece of carpet in here. When we pulled it up, the floor was soaked from the frozen, rusted-through, leaking water heater. The icky tile was repeatedly wet over the years, and looked like it was pieced together from many designs (odds and ends?). Note second hatch to the crawl space, primary one is in the downstairs bathroom closet.
We just need to take up the final old tiles, staples and nails.
Nan: We'll hire a plumber to install the new water heater. The yellow wire goes to a
wall socket.
Nan: This will all have to be repaired. We have new sheet rock in the garage that someone left. At least we won't have to buy that; small blessings are welcome.
Bob: Sometimes you just have to get into it. Paneling often hides things.
Now, see what happens next...
